UN report on e-government readiness reviewed

Manama, Oct, 30 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa chaired in his office at Gudaibiya Palace today the committee's meeting, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and the committee members.

Manama, Aug. 6 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain achieved a ranking of 11th place in the Telecommunications sub-index of the2016 edition of the e-Government Development Index (EGDI), published by the United Nations, which represents an increase of 15 ranks over its previous position in the index in 2014.

LinkedIn, Dell, Facebook and Ericsson held the first ever MENA Connecting Women in Technology (CWIT) event in Dubai, UAE. CWIT, a collaborative initiative which started with 15 technology companies in Ireland, was created to attract and retain women in the technology industry.

UAE Ranks 8th Globally and 1st Regionally in UN's 2016 e-Smart Services Index

UAE - The UAE has moved up by four ranks in its position in the e-smart services index of the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) issued by the United Nations Department of Economics and Social Affairs (UNDESA)--ranking 8th (0.8913) globally with the Republic of Estonia. The EGDI is an important component in the overall index used to determine growth in e-government development.
