IBM is the most community-oriented private company, according to a new study. Bloomberg and its partners ranked the top 50 private companies that make the best use of their resources to improve the quality of life in their local communities. Partnering with two civic engagement non-profits, the National Conference on Citizenship and Points of Light, Bloomberg published what it calls The Civic 50.
Each of the companies featured in the list were ranked in several areas including leadership, community partnerships, employee civic growth and transparency. Other private sector giants ranking high on the scorecard are AT&T (No. 3), General Electric (No. 9), Microsoft (No. 14) and Intel (No. 17).
