Since the launch of number portability in Brazil in September 2008, the service has seen 25.16 million lines ported between phone operators, of which 15.58 million were mobile numbers and 9.58 million were fixed ones. The figures come from the latest report of the Brazilian Association of Telecommunications Resources (ABR Telecom), the entity that manages ported numbers. In the third quarter of this year alone, 1.06 million changes of operator were registered through number portability, of which 577.000 were mobile lines and 489,000 were fixed ones.
