Terming the present government ‘illegal’, BNP chairperson’s adviser Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Sunday said this government will no longer be allowed to run the country. “The illegal government will be forced to arrange the election under a non-party caretaker government by bringing an end to its all activities through a non-cooperation movement,” he said while addressing a rally organised by the city unit of the BNP-led 18-party alliance at the port city’s Noor Ahmed Chowdhury Road. Alleging that the government is wasting time in the name of dialogue, Khasru also accused it of creating confusion among country’s people when the opposition’s movement is at its peak. “No election will be held in the country without caretaker government. The government must come to the path of consensus shunning the path of confrontation. Otherwise, dire consequences await them,” he warned.
