In Kazakhstan, civil servants will bear responsibility for for poor quality government services, the deputy head of the Presidential Administration Baurzhan Baibek reported on Friday.

He recalled that in past few years steps taken for improvement of provision of public service delivery gave positive results.

"People felt those results on the example of PSC (Public Service Centers - Trend). Though their performance is far from being perfect, still people saw and felt that many of the services (registration, cancellation of registration, obtaining driver license, etc) may be performed quickly and efficiently, " he said.

According to him, the law is primarily directed to the fact that all of the complaints of citizens should be considered on time by government agencies, all the stages of application consideration must be transparent.

As previously reported, the President signed the Law on "Amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the public service" on Friday.

The law aims at improving the efficiency of the state apparatus, including through the introduction of new mechanisms for the formation, operation and evaluation of personnel of public service.
