The government held its first joint ministerial meeting on Friday following the selection of Incheon to host the secretariat of the Green Climate Fund.
The meeting held to discuss follow-up measures was attended by senior officials of 15 offices including the Prime Minister's Office and the Foreign and Environment Ministries.
The meeting chaired by Vice Finance Minister Shin Je-yoon discussed ways to support the fund's launch by improving institutions, systems and enhancing living conditions for fund employees stationed in Korea.
The government will draft comprehensive measures along these lines by next month.
The Green Climate Fund was created to help developing nations reduce greenhouse gas emissions and better adjust to climate change. The agency will take charge of procuring and executing a large portion of global funds dedicated to climate change. It aims to raise 100 billion dollars every year through 2020.
