Kazakhstan is ready to learn from the experience of Estonia in the development of a green economy', Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov said at the opening of the Kazakh-Estonian Business Forum in Astana during the visit of Estonian counterpart Andrus Ansip on Thursday.

"We are interested in expanding cooperation with Estonia where in addition to the traditional contacts in the field of transport, the use of the port of Tallinn and air transport, we can use other ways in which Estonia has achieved a great success," Massimov said.

He added the matter of the application of Estonia's experience in the development of a 'green economy' and energy efficiency.

"Kazakhstan has just begun to move in this direction and we would love to attract Estonian companies which have already gained experience in this field," the Prime Minister said.

Massimov noted that currently there are 54 joint Kazakh-Estonian enterprises operating in the fields of trade, finance and construction in Kazakhstan.

Estonia exports engineering products, food, vehicles to Kazakhstan. In turn, Kazakhstan supplies oil (worth 75 million euros delivered in 2011) and rubber chemicals to the country.

Kazakhstan is a key partner of Estonia in Central Asia and in 27th place among that country's trade partners. Bilateral trade in 2011 amounted to 126 million euros in the first half of 2012 to 83.5 million euros.
