The Ministry of Knowledge Economy has announced short-term measures to help domestic small and medium-sized companies expand their exports.
To increase the nation’s shipments to Europe, the ministry will further strengthen the marketing of export items that benefit from the Korea-EU free trade agreement while offering FTA-related consultations to small exporters at all times.
The Korea Trade Insurance Corporation and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will offer joint consulting and other support to companies that develop markets in emerging economies such as Africa.
The growing popularity of Korean pop culture overseas known as the Korean Wave or “hallyu” will be used as a marketing tool to boost Korean products in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) market.
Shinhan Bank will sign an agreement with the ministry to quickly provide export guarantees to small and medium-sized firms that participate in projects won by large corporations overseas.
