Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the law On ratification of the protocol on ensuring technical and informational compatibility of weapons and military equipment of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's system, Kazakh president's press-service reported.

The protocol is aimed at the implementation of common approaches in use of formations and units provided from National troops and forces of CSTO's members for the organization's collective security forces. Moreover, the protocol ensures efficient management of forces of the collective security system and creates conditions to meet its needs.

The Joint Staff of the Organization should form a list of parameters and characteristics of weapons and military equipment according to proposals of the defense ministries of CSTO members. This list will be approved and will be compulsory.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization is an intergovernmental military alliance of Post-soviet countries. It was created in 1992. The CSTO charter reaffirmed the desire of all participant countries to abstain from using threat of force. Signatories would not be able to join other military alliances or other groups of states, while aggression against one signatory would be considered as an aggression against all. CSTO members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
