A free-computer training programme for 10,000 women of the country has been undertaken in order to create self-employment under the project title ‘Promoting Computer Literacy Amongst Women for Self-Employment’. Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha (JMS), Department of Women Affair and Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) in association with Ministry of Women and Children Affairs will perform this training programme. Md. Ashraf Hossain, director general of Department of Women Affairs, Professor Momtaz Begum, chairman of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha, and Md. Sabur Khan, chairman of Daffodil Institute of IT and Daffodil Group, signed an agreement recently on behalf of their respective institutions, says a press release. State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was present at the MoU signing ceremony as the chief guest. Mohammad Nur-uzzaman, executive director of DIIT, and other high officials of concerned institutions were also present at the agreement signing ceremony.
