September 26, 2011, an international Uzbek-South Korean conference on development of information technology in Asia ITPA 2011 was held within the Week of Information Technologies. It was organized by Tashkent University of Information Technology, Information Technology Internationalization Research Center (ITIRC), Korean Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in cooperation with the Uzbek Agency for Communications and Information.

The main purpose of the conference is to identify new opportunities of ICT, consideration of regional issues, association of researchers of different disciplines, scientists and entities interested in development of information technology in Asia, discussion of existing methods and new research directions and technologies, the press service of UzACI reports.

The topic of the event covers the use and development of ICT in education and science, economics and management, government, and communication systems. Training courses for young teachers and students of Tashkent University of Information Technology were organized as part of the conference program.
