The Government on Tuesday announced six Strategic Reform Initiatives (SRI) to boost the nation's global competitiveness.
The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on behalf of the Prime Minister.
"With the comprehensive SRIs in place, the framework for economic transformation is now complete," he said during an update briefing on the Economic Transformation Programme here on Tuesday.
He noted that some RM13bil would be set aside over a period of five years to allow the Government to manage contingencies, settle debts and invest for the nation's future.
Forming the second critical component of the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), the SRI covers public finance, the government's role in business, human capital development, public service delivery, international standards and liberalisation and narrowing disparities among bumiputra small and medium industries.
Earlier, Pemandu's chief executive officer Datuk Seri Idris Jala said that 82% out of the 65 entry point projects had been implemented with the remaining in various stages of implementation.
The 65 projects involve investment commitment of RM170bil that will push gross national income to RM220bil.
He said the government was closely monitoring the impact of its ETP and had so far been successful in its delivery.
