At a House plenary session on Wednesday held to review the government’s 2012 budget plan, most factions urged the government to pay more attention to matters relating directly to the people.
“The government has reduced the prices of staple foods, but has apparently failed to reduce tuition fees. Every year they climb significantly. The government should do something about them," Wan Abu Bakar of the United Development Party (PPP) told a members of the House of Representatives at the plenary session.
Chusnuniah of the Nation Awakening Party (PKB) faction said the government should also pay more serious attention to the creation of jobs.
"This will contribute directly to the government’s ambition to become a welfare state," she said.
