Bangladesh: Use of ICT and Internet Turning into Social Movement

RANGPUR, Feb 20 (BSS) - Speakers at a free training course on Internet, Information and Communication Technology on Saturday said that usage's of ICT and Internet have been turning into social movements faster in the country.

They called upon all including the students and younger generations to acquire adequate knowledge and skills in Internet browsing and ICT for their enhanced participation's in building a digital and medium income Bangladesh by 2021.

They said all concerned have been working to make the Access to Information (A2I) Project of the Prime Minister's Office successful by reaching government services to the peoples' doorsteps.

They were addressing the function organised by the upazila administration in association with Bangladesh Computer Education (BCE) at Pirganj upazila parishad auditorium in the district.

Abul Kalam Azad, MP, attended the training course as the chief guest while UNO Pirganj Abu Shaheen Mohammad Asaduzzaman in the chair. Pirganj upazila chairman Motiar Rahman Chowdhury, District Education Officer Shafikul Islam and noted businessman Shayadat Hossain Bakul were present as special guests.

Awami League leader Mokarram Hossain Jahangir Chowdhury, Secondary Education Officer Syed Shuja Mian, Principals Rashedunnabi Chowdhury and Khalilur Rahman, founding Director of BCE Nurul Islam, its Pirganj unit Director Mazharul Alam took part in the discussion.

Teachers and students of different educational institutions of Pirganj upazila, officials and employees of government and non-government offices, professionals and elite of the town were
present.

The speakers said the people have been getting all information and services now from the Union Information Service Centers and other digital centers at their doorsteps because of the ongoing digitalization process as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

They said there will be no corruption's and irregularities in the esteemed digital Bangladesh and every citizen would enjoy the fruits of the hard-earned Independence as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
