An on-line facility for citizens to register complaints and grievances is one of the seven services that the civil supplies department will put on-line on December 19 as part of the government's drive to provide 50 e-Services for the benefit of citizens on Liberation Day.
The civil supplies department will launch another 5 e-services by April 2011. This is part of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of the central government which aims to make all government services accessible to the common man in his locality, through common service delivery outlets and ensure efficiency, transparency and reliability of such service at affordable costs to realise the basic needs of common man.
The seven e-Services to be launched on Liberation Day are: receipt of consumer complaints and processing of the same, application of new retail kerosene licence, renewal of the same, application of new hawker kerosene licence, renewal of the same, application of retail/wholesale foodstuff licence and renewal of the same.
Complaints may be registered through the Internet by visiting a state government portal and then choosing the required department. A fee of 5 has been proposed for registering complaints on-line and a time frame of 30 days has been fixed to resolve the issue.
To avail of the e-Services, scanned copies of supporting documents must be submitted and in the case of registering complaints, the supporting documents depend on the nature of the complaint.
