Today they sign the ROD on ICT Master Plan
The KOICA will allocate two million dollars for e-government and e-economy An ambitious "Master Plan for Information Technology and Communication (ICT)" will be implemented shortly in Paraguay, it was announced yesterday at a meeting between the vice president of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Ahn Dong-won and the Minister of the Technical Planning Secretariat, Bernardo Esquivel.
This project seeks to transfer worldwide cutting-edge computing technology to Paraguay and the Record of Discussions will be signed today between KOICA and the Presidency of the Republic in the Government Palace.
The budget provided for the Korean Agency for this plan that would be for a 12 months term, is $ 2 million to be disbursed from today on for the fulfilment of commitments.
This project would benefit the public sector through the development of e-Government and aims to the formulation of public policies, provision of equipment for automation in government offices and also provides training for staff.
ELECTRONIC ECONOMY
In addition, it points to the implementation of strategies for the electronic economy of Paraguay and the ICT industry, which are the main contributors to economic development. At this point it is intended to stimulate trade and small businesses, for example, with incentives for fundraising and policies.
"ICTs are applied in all fields of society and government is most interested in the application in their functions, in order that institutions work through networks of computers. That the formalities are as simple as possible, that the user or customer of the Government has all the information through the Internet to access its services" noted the Minister Esquivel.
