The latest opinion poll shows the conservative Coalition would win the Australian federal election if it were held today.
The Nielsen poll has the coalition leading Labor on a two-party-preferred basis by 52 points to 48.
But Julia Gillard still leads the opposition leader, Tony Abbott as preferred prime minister, with 49 points to 41.
Neither leader has yet commented on the poll results.
