Azerbaijan: International Conference on Scientific and Technological Innovations Underway in Baku

An international conference entitled “Scientific and technological innovations: national experience and international cooperation” was held here on Thursday.

The event was organized by Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI) and the ANAS`s Centre of Scientific Innovations. The conference brought together representatives of local and foreign countries' ministries, organizations, as well as scientists, experts and businessmen.

The exhibition entitled “Innovative technologies” was organized as part of the conference.
The exhibition featured latest technologies of Azerbaijan and foreign countries. Opening the conference, President of ANAS, academician Mahmud Karimov described Baku's hosting the conference as a success of Azerbaijan's science.

He highly praised Azerbaijan-ICSTI cooperation. According to Karimov, the conference will be followed with the 61st meeting of the Committee of Authorized representatives of ICSTI member states and a seminar of representatives of international online editions.

He underlined the conference will discuss 75 reports of 150 authors from various countries around the world. Director of the ICSTI Victor Kodola thanked Azerbaijani government for excellent organization of the conference which brought together eminent scientists and experts. Kodola stressed Azerbaijan is the leading country among the ICSTI partner states.

Later, the conference was followed with discussions. The scientists from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, South Africa, Czech, Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine, Italy, Slovakia and Uzbekistan exchanged views on methodology of innovation information and creation of innovation infrastructure.
