Ambassador: ‘Avaza’ - Symbol of Epoch of Great Transformations in Turkmenistan

"Avaza" is a symbol of the epoch of great transformations in Turkmenistan and important part of the Turkmen Pesident Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov's social and economic reforms, aimed at further improving the welfare and preservation of health of population, Turkmenistan's ambassador to Azerbaijan Annamamed Mammadov said today at a press conference in Baku.According to him, the project "Avaza" is system project, which covers the full range of necessary elements, advancing it in a number of fundamental undertakings.Decisions on the establishment of the national tourism zone "Avaza" was signed by Turkmenistan's President in July 2007. The ambassador said that major infrastructure projects, including the international airport in the city of Turkmenbashi, Man-Made River, power plant and desalination plant were completed in the tourism zone in April of 2010.

The total area allocated for the construction of the tourism zone is 5,000 hectares. After completion of the draft national tourism zone it will be able to receive about 80,000 guests.Mammadov noted that Turkmenistan is interested in attracting foreign investors in the national tourism zone "Avaza". Today special legal regime of entrepreneurial activity is appealed to entities and a number of benefits are provided.In particular, entrepreneurs on an expedited basis receive entrance visas without levy of consular fees, are exempt from value added taxes during construction and erection works; are exempt from value added tax for 15 years from the date of commissioning facilities for provision of a complex of tourist services; are exempt from income taxes for 15 years from the date of commissioning of facilities for provision of a complex of tourist services; are exempt from customs duties and dues.During 2010-2011 $13.6 billion will be allocated for construction of social and industrial infrastructure, including facilities of the National Tourism Zone "Avaza", the ambassador said.
