The National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA) launched here yesterday its new website (www.ocancer.org.om) under the auspices of Her Highness Sayyida Dr Muna bint Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said. The website features a new design for a variety of online services including linking the NACA website to the Information Technology Authority’s portal of online donations to charities. (http://www.onlinedonations.org.om).
The website also takes into account factors such as speed, ease of navigation and consistency of color and simplicity of design. The home page has a dedicated section for film clips where we will be showcasing the most important activities of the Association. It is innovative and multi-functional with links to social networking sites including Twitter and Facebook. The website is designed to fit with the existing electronic content management system easily and conveniently.
Yuthar al Rawahy, Founder and President of the National Association for Cancer Awareness, said that “the new website is part of our quest to deepen the communication between all segments of Omani society on the very important message of cancer awareness, and facilitate their access to information and services provided by NACA.
The website has electronic services following the government strategy to improve e-Oman. It has Online Donation System.
“It aims to enable the visitor to follow our latest news and events and learn how to benefit from and participate in the various initiatives of the Association”.
At the Oman Web Awards 2011 NACA’s website, with its soft launching, has been awarded a Silver Award in the category of non-profit organisation.
As with most initiatives of the Association, their success is due in large part to the volunteerism and dedication of active and aware citizens of our community, the website is no different — Hamoud Mohammed al Azri graciously volunteered to design the website to allow for yet another platform for the Association to get its message across. The National Association for Cancer Awareness’ sincerly would like to thank Azri for his efforts and continued support.
