The launching follows a successful implementation of the first phase which ended in June this year, that saw improved rural water supply improve from 40 percent in 2013 to 51 percent in 2014.

Measures will be taken to improve water supply in rural areas in which renovation and construction of water kiosks to serve almost 19,080,000 will be done. In cities it is intended to increase water supply from 68 to 95 percent and reduce water leakages from 55 to 25 percent, according to the Minister for Water Prof. Jumanne Maghembe.
