USACF is an organisation dedicated to improving education for young people in Africa, and was started by Mark Grashow and his wife in 2003. Today, the programme supports 70,000 children in 165 schools in Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Ghana and South Africa.
The Eastern Cape has always been a key area for Ubank as many of the Bank’s customers originate from the region, which also cements our focus to continue improving the lives of those living there.
Delegates from Ubank and USACF will be meeting the principals of these schools to hand over the books and provide a brighter future for these students.
“Investing in the communities in which we operate, forms a critical part of how we do business. Not only do we invest in helping less privileged schools across South Africa, but we also value partnerships with organisations that have the same objective as us, and USACF fell right into that category,” concludes Derek Elbrecht, head of the Teba Trust.
“We have also invested in the building and rehabilitation of school structures in the area, and we are very proud to be part of the creation of future leaders in our communities”, added Luthando Vutula, CEO, Ubank.
