According to a company news video, MarketScope is a location based mapping tool that is powered by TomTom Africa. It allows various data about consumers, sales patterns, territories, routes and customer trends to be compared and contrasted.
The information is then imported onto a digital map for analysis and display in a geospatial context. “This inclusion of the Census data offers enterprise and government a comprehensive geospatial snapshot of their operations to allow planning, benchmarking and market analyses. It’s a virtual replication of reality,” says Etienne Louw, managing director of mapIT.
Louw added “To ensure accurate analyses results, MarketScope comes standard with TomTom’s high quality mapping data”.The Census 2011 exercise was undertaken by Statistics South Africa to systematically acquire and record information about the members of the country.
