Speaking at the close of a three-day AU-CAMPS and AMDIN meeting, Dr. Allen said like Liberia, many parts of Africa are endowed with abundant natural resources, but unless investment is made in the human capital of the continent, no amount of development would be sustainable.
"So, I will say, CAMPS has the solution to capacity building issues in Africa," he maintained.
He pledged Liberia's support to the work of CAMPS in all of its thematic areas. He promised that Liberia will ensure the passage of the Chapter on the Values and Principles of Public Service in Africa as soon as possible.
Also, Abraham Okoko-Esseau of the African Union Conference/CAMPS Secretariat thanked the government and people of Liberia for the successful hosting of the meeting.
Mr. Okoko-Esseau said the first Africa renaissance started in Liberia with the establishment of Organization of African Unity (OAU), now African Union (AU).
For his part, the Advisor of Africa Government and Public Administration Program at the United Nations Development Program Regional Service Centre for Eastern and Southern Africa, pledged UNDP's continuous support to AU-CAMPS and AMDIN.
