The two-day workshop held in Kempton Park from Thursday brought together service delivery practitioners, including CDW Programme Managers from all provinces and senior DPSA and COGTA officials among others.
Participants deliberated in detail the realignment of the CDWP as per the Ministerial pronouncements during the Public Service and Administration Budget Vote for the current financial year.
Resolutions taken included the immediate strengthening of ties by the CDWP with communities as primary stakeholders, Government departments in all the three spheres of governance, big business, Chapter 9 and training institutions, traditional authorities and the media.
The need for a shared vision and uniformity in approach in the CDWP's reporting lines and location, as well as the review of CDW's job description will from now on occupy centre stage as the programme transforms itself for an even better public service delivery.
These recommendations will be collated into a comprehensive report to be submitted to the Minister for Public Service and Administration for consideration.
Addressing delegates on the final day of the workshop, Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo said it was crucial that the CDWP operated homogeneously throughout the country as there was only a single vision for the country's service delivery.
A CDW resource Book has been completed by PALAMA and will be printed by the DPSA for implementation in due course.
