Lagos State Government has stated its readiness to leverage on the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance governance and improve productivity in the state.
The state's Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Adebiyi Mabadeje in an interactive session with ICT correspondents, said it has become very necessary for the state to create awareness on the need to develop, deploy and utilize science and technology as tools of growth.
According to him, the current administration in the state has taken cognizance of seamless governance through the adoption of various eGoverance strategies by using ICT to make government more accessible to people.
He explained that the Lagos State Government through the Science and Technology Ministry has put in place various strategies in using ICT as economic driver of the state.
Mabadeje said part of these efforts is the ICT Innovation Fund to encourage technology innovations as well as improving effectiveness in governance.
He noted that the fund is targeted at the general populace and post-secondary institutions in the state with the aim of providing environment that would aid research and development, enterprise promotion and innovation in the state.
