The Times of Zambia and Sunday Times of Zambia are now on Facebook with freshly-developed advanced versions of websites to effectively reach and cater for a diverse client base.
The initiatives are in the initial phase of numerous improvements lined up by the company aimed at bringing the two newspapers to levels obtaining on the global scene in terms of state-of-the-art service provision for on-line publications.
Times Printpak Managing Director, Godfrey Malama, says apart from improvements made to the newspapers, the firm has also made remarkable improvements to the Times of Zambia website (http://www.times.co.zm/) while a completely new site for the sister newspaper, the Sunday Times of Zambia, has been developed and can be found at http://www.times.co.zm/sunday/.
Mr Malama said the Times was aiming Times was aiming at becoming the pace-setter in on-line news publication as well as an on-line advertiser of choice for the growing business community in the country.
"We are not in the business of standing on top of the roof to make noise but have been quietly working in the background and a lot of ground has been covered so far.
"We have a number of innovative ideas that we are working on and I would like to advise our readers to look out for these gradual but interesting initiatives both in our newspapers and on-line publications," Mr Malama said.
He added that advertisers should feel free to approach the Times to place their adverts on any of the two sites which had already recorded encouraging visits just under a week after the improvements were done.
He said the company had been receiving commendation from readers from within the country and from places such as Europe.
"Advertisers can now place adverts on any of the two web sites at affordable rates and they are assured of maximum reach. With the upgrade, readers will see that it's now easier to find links to the kind of stories they may be looking for.
"The sites are also updated on a daily basis and in good time. This should assure advertisers of a broad readership," Mr Malama said.
He said readers could also find the Times of Zambia or Sunday times on Facebook or Twitter by searching for timesofzambianewspaper where they would be able to interact with the organization.
"Apart from the interaction that our readers can have through comments on stories published on-line, they will also be able to chat with us through Facebook.
"We will be posting briefs of the news to be published in the following day's newspapers so that our esteemed readers are not left out of the informative write-ups that have made us the news leaders for all these years," Mr Malama said.
