Angolan Home Affairs minister, Sebastião Martins, assured Tuesday in Luanda, the reliability of payment model of fines through Automated Teller Machine (ATM), stressing that the collected amount, in result of infringements, fall directly into the Treasury Single Account.
The minister who was speaking at the end of the opening of the project, in Luanda's Marginal Avenue, said the system will be supported by Angolan Investment Bank (BAI) that will provide the corporation with the necessary equipment for the purpose.
With this ceremony, the minister said, the automatic payment system becomes a fast and secure process, "because there is a security component that enables great assurance that the values will fall directly on the single treasury account and in due time.
According to the minister, the system will also curb indecent behaviour of some police officers who embark on negotiation in the case of fine.
The official added that through the automatic payment terminal, motorists can pay fines with their ATM cards, thus avoiding the seizure of their driving license by the police officers.
According to him, the act also represents a step toward modernization of the activity carried out by the police and Interior Ministry in general.
