The Chingola Chamber of Commerce will soon go online to promote products and services of its members on a wider scale and attract foreign investors.
Chamber president Freddie Musonda said the computer age has turned the World into a global village where every investor preferred to do business online.
Mr Musonda said members in the chamber would partner with foreign investors so that they could win lucrative tenders, hence create more employment opportunities for the locals.
He said on;ine engagement would connect the chamber to the World thereby improve the capacity of local companies.
"This will market both the chamber and individual members and it will help the members to grow because of the better marketing platform," Mr Musonda said.
He said members would have snippets on the website on which to advertise their products, specialty and the services.
The members were recently taught by Swiss and Dutch business executives on capacity building via online.
Mr Musonda said this would help the growth of the economy of the town and foster positive response from foreign investors who had wanted to do business with the local business executives.
Mr Musonda said Copperbelt chambers had recently engaged the Minister of Commerce on the need for individual chambers to be issuing certificates of origin to the mining firms.
The certificates of origin are documents issued by Government to the mine owners when exporting minerals to indicate exactly the district where the minerals emanating from.
Mr Musonda said the chambers would increase their revenue through issuance of certificates of origin.
