“These new machines will give us advanced sorting capabilities that can profoundly affect our operations.” This translates into improved mail process efficiency, and will provide the most modern automatic sorting technology available, enabling the SA Post Office to offer more efficient services to customers.
Delivering on its vision of being recognised among the leading providers of postal and related services in the world, the project with Toshiba, Japan is a part of the Post Offices’ strategy to sustain affordability of postal services, while continuing to build on gains in service improvement, cost reduction, upgrading, modernisation of mechanisation and automation systems.
“A strategic priority for the South African Post Office is to always look at maximising operational performance and enhancing efficiency,” added Lefoka.
Customers of the SA Post Office can expect to see fewer operational failures and improved process efficiency which will positively impact customer service levels.
