Head of Department, Dr Nkosinathi Sishi, says they analysed results from the previous years’ exams to come up with this new strategy.

Schools will be grouped in common venues, and Saturday lessons will be held at neighbouring schools that perform. Lead teachers and subject advisors will also form part of the programme

The programme will focus on six subjects, including Maths, Accounting, Physical Science, Geography and English First Additional Language.

Sishi said the programme targets schools that performed below 40 percent in the six subjects in March, but noted that schools that have performed well and are keen on participating in the programmes are also encouraged, allowing them to share knowledge with other less performing schools.
