Health - Mobile Clinic Bags Award for Innovative Service Delivery

Seven public organisations from Mauritius participated in the award namely, the Waste Water Management Authority, the Companies Division, the Mauritius Qualifications Authority, the Department of Civil Aviation, the Biodiversity Unit, (Forestry Services, Ministry of Agro Industry and Food Security), the Mobile Clinic, (Ministry of Health and Quality of Life) and the Quality Control of Pharmaceuticals, (Ministry of Health and Quality of Life).

AAPSIA is a continental-wide awards initiative of the Pan-African Conference of Ministers of Civil Service which promotes and encourages best practices, innovation and improvement in service delivery of public sector organisations across Africa. The awards are allocated in three distinct categories namely, Innovative service delivery improvements; Innovative partnership between government, private sector and civil service organisations; and Innovations in the systems and processes of governance.

AAPSIA also recognises successful and effective service delivery projects and initiatives that have been achieved through the application of innovative approaches, methodologies and tools. It also rewards the achievements of public servants and their partners from the private and non-profit making sectors who have successfully developed innovative solutions to service delivery and governance challenges.

The Mauritius Civil Service also received the Special Award for Knowledge Management during the 4th SADC Regional United Nations Public Administration Network (UNPAN) Portal Workshop held on 4 and 5 May at Pretoria, South Africa. Mauritius has received the award in recognition of its knowledge-sharing in the field of transformation of the public service and reforms made in the public administration systems, institutional development, financial and human resource management with the objective to improve public services.
