In addition to the workshop, participating SADC countries were acknowledged with certificates of appreciation and the best performing country in the region, Mauritius was awarded a trophy for its commitment to the UNPAN Portal. 

The workshop was attended by 18 representatives from nine countries, these were Swaziland, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic, Malawi, Mauritius, Lesotho, Tanzania and South Africa.  The highlight of the workshop was a live link to the DPADM offices in New York where Mr Deniz Susar and Ms Candace Hosang Charbonné made a presentation and interacted with particiapants and answered their questions.
