President Paul Kagame, is set to become the first African leader to appear on Youtube Worldview, an online interview platform that has featured prominent world leaders.

President Kagame will take recorded questions from viewers on the programme powered by search engine giant Google and online video broadcaster Youtube.

The Head of State will then sit down in a special interview with Khaya Dlanga, a YouTube partner and one of South Africa's leading video bloggers on May 5, to answer the questions.

"President Kagame will answer a range of the most popular questions submitted by you. The deadline to submit your question is May 3 and the final interview will be available on May 7," a statement by the programme producers reads.

Interested viewers are requested to send in their questions recorded with video cameras, video phones or webcams or alternatively in form of text and then upload them on http://www.youtube.com/user/worldview.

"Starting now, you can submit questions to President Kagame on any topic, like Rwanda's economy, technology policy, how the country has grown over the 17 years since the genocide or the issue of regional integration." the statement continues.

"You can also ask questions as wide ranging as issues related to the future of Africa and its young people."

Viewers can also tweet in their question using hashtag #askkagame in their tweet, and it will automatically be added to the Worldview queue.

According to the statement, YouTube Worldview has travelled to North America, Europe and the Middle East to offer viewers a chance to interview the most powerful leaders in the world.

President Barack Obama, UK Prime Minister David Cameron and the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, are the other leaders to have featured on Youtube Worldview
