The National Film and Television Institute, NAFTI, has been provided with an ICT centre valued at almost GH30,000 by Australia.
The centre was financed through the Direct Aid Programme, DAP, an
Australian government small grants programme, aimed at assisting
development countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable
development.
The centre contains twenty-five computers, a four in one scanner, printers and fax as well as a photocopier machine.
Inaugurating the centre, the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana,
William Williams, said the Australian government considers it a priority
to support education in Ghana, hence, the provision of the ICT centre
to NAFTI.
Mr Williams added that the ICT equipment will help in building skills in
film and television production for Ghana’s development.
The Rector of the Institute, Professor Linus Abrahams, said film making
is based on technology and the ICT centre will help in this direction.
