"The ANC Gauteng has completed the regional list conferences in Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Sedibeng. The Johannesburg and West Rand regional list conferences were completed last week," said provincial spokesman Dumisa Ntuli.

He said the list conferences were held to select ANC councillors in preparation for the local government elections later this year.

"ANC Gauteng is well ahead with its candidates selection process. Our elections teams are well-prepared and giving special attention to winning the 2011 elections," Ntuli said.

He said the regional conferences were well-attended and that the ANC had taken the views of communities into account when selecting candidates
