Home Affairs officers across the country will work extended hours on Friday, 4 February.
They will also work both on Saturday and Sunday, 5-6 February, across the country from 8am - 5pm to help those who want to apply for IDs to participate in the local government elections.
The department will also have mobile offices in the areas affected by floods and those without Home Affairs offices.
"Your vote is one way in which you can contribute to the creation of a better life for all South Africans," said Dlamini Zuma
