| UN Global E-Government Development Database |
 The United Nations E-Government Development Database (UNeGovDD) is a benchmarking tool that provides a comparative assessment for monitoring progress of a country’s e-government readiness from 2003 to 2005. As such it provides an interactive snapshot picture of a country’s e-government readiness in the world. The primary source of data for the Development Database comes from the United Nations Global E-Readiness Reports and Survey. This section of the Development Database contains an introduction to the UN mission as it relates to e-government and also provides the UNeGovDD E-Government Framework, which establishes the foundation for the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) efforts. |
| Africa Governance Inventory - Inventaire de la Gouvernance en Afrique |
 The Africa Governance Inventory (AGI) Web Portal is an online gateway to governance-related information in Africa. The AGI was originally developed in 1999 by the Division for Public Administration and Development Management (DPADM) of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations (UNDESA), with financial support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Italy. Following the recommendations of AGI Focal Points, UNDESA has made the AGI available on the Internet to facilitate information-sharing on governance in Africa through the World Wide Web. |
| Caribbean E-Government Knowledge Bank (TASF) |
 The 5th Caribbean Ministerial Consultation on Regional Cooperation for E-government Capacity Building (Barbados, June 2004) adopted the Action-Oriented E-Government Strategy for Countries of the Caribbean Region, 2004-2007. In embracing the Strategy, as a framework within which the governments of the region could develop their own national strategies and formulate national and regional programmes in the area of e-Government, the Meeting also agreed on various actions to support its implementation, including the establishment of a regional Technical and Advisory Support Facility (TASF). |

 The end of the cold war; spreading democratization; a shift in balance among the state, the market and civil society; globalization; and changing social mores — among other factors — are altering the environment in which governments are operating. The explosion of new information and communication technologies is also allowing for a rapid, global diffusion of ideas and practices, enabling the public to demand higher standards of ethics, transparency and accountability in the public sector. |

| Innovation in Public Administration in the Euro-Mediterranean Region (InnovMed) |
 The InnovMed Programme is implemented by the Division for Public Administration and Development Management(DPADM) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). InnovMed is part of the Global On-line Network of Public Administration (UNPAN) and it aims at promoting innovation in governance in the Mediterranean region. |

 The UNDESA Database on Economic and Social Councils (ESCs) and similar institutions contains a per-country Global Directory of institutions and other bodies or arrangements within the government structure that directly or indirectly provide for civil society organizations to engage in policy dialogue. |
| UN-NGO-IRENE |
 The NGO Section of DESA contributes to the creation of interface structures between the UN and private organizations at all levels. An informal regional network (UN-NGO-IRENE) has been established to coordinate collaboration between the UN and NGOs.
In partnership with the International Association of the Economic and Social Councils and Similar institutions (AICESIS) spread over 5 continents with activities in 65 countries involving over 3000 NGOs, the UN-NGO-IRENE network is an interface at the country, regional and global level between the UN headquarters in New York, UN organizations at the country level and non-UN organizations including academia, NGOs, business organizations and philanthropic foundations. |

 Akoma Ntoso (“linked hearts” in Akan language of West Africa) defines a set of simple, technology-neutral electronic representations of parliamentary, legislative and judiciary documents for e-services in a worldwide context and provides an enabling framework for the effective exchange of "machine readable" parliamentary, legislative and judiciary documents such as legislation, debate record, minutes, judgements, etc.
