UN/INTOSAI 21st Interregional Symposium

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs UNDESA through its Division for Public Administration and Development Management DPADM and the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions INTOSAI have organized twenty interregional seminars and symposia since 1971 These have covered over time a broad range of topics on how auditing can enhance public governance public administration and development management The 21st UN/INTOSAI Symposium will be held in Vienna Austria from 13 to 15 July 2011 The Symposium is to focus on the theme “Effective practices of cooperation between SAIs and citizens to enhance public accountability” This will provide the opportunity to assess both how Supreme Audit Institutions SAIs engage citizens in their own work as well as how SAIs communicate their work to citizens It is foreseen that the Symposium will permit all participants to identify assess and exchange knowledge internationally about ways in which SAIs from countries around the world engage citi
