Electronic Communications Act

Based on the EU regulatory framework for electronic communications the Electronic Communications Act entered into force on 25 July 2003 Its purpose is to give citizens and public authorities access to safe and efficient eCommunications while promoting competition These electronic communications should be the most worthwhile possible in terms of choice of transmission services price and quality In these respects Sweden should be at the forefront of international developments Electronic communications should be sustainable and useable and accommodate future needs Another purpose of the Act is to ensure that eCommunication services are available to citizens in all regions of Sweden
