The United Nations E-Government Readiness Knowledge Base (UNKB) is a benchmarking tool that provides a comparative assessment for monitoring progress of a country’s e-government readiness from 2003 to 2005. As such it provides an interactive snapshot picture of a country’s e-government readiness in the world. The primary source of data for the Knowledge Base comes from the United Nations Global E-Readiness Reports and Survey. This section of the Knowledge Base contains an introduction to the UN mission as it relates to e-government and also provides the UNKB E-Government Framework, which establishes the foundation for the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) efforts.
