Brazil Brazil May Reach 23 mln M2M Connections in 2016
Brazil's communications ministry (Mincom) forecasts that machine-to-machine (M2M) connections in the country will reach 23 million in 2016 compared with current 8 million.The ministry said that the growth will be mainly driven by tax breaks for the M2M communications sector that entered into force in May. The government cut the installation inspection fee TFI by 80 percent to boost the M2M market.
Brazil 25 Million Phone Numbers Ported in Brazil Since 2008
Since the launch of number portability in Brazil in September 2008, the service has seen 25.16 million lines ported between phone operators, of which 15.58 million were mobile numbers and 9.58 million were fixed ones.
