Seniors in Poland Use the Internet Less Than EU Average Elderly Person

According to a report on the situation of senior citizens in Poland in 2016, which the Polish government has forwarded to Parliament, elderly Poles use the internet to a far smaller extent than seniors in the other EU countries, reported Telko.in. The document was prepared by the Ministry of the Family, Labour and Social Policy. 

Twenty-two percent of the whole population do not use the internet, while in the age group 55-64, the rate is 43 percent and in the group 65-74, there are 68 percent who do not use the internet. 

Seniors in the EU as a whole use the internet less than the average population, but the rate is worse than the EU average. In the age group 55-64 the percentage of those not using the internet is 18 percentage points higher than the EU average; in the age group 65-74, it is higher by 23 percentage points.
