Adopted on 25 January 2006, the Law of Free Access to Information of Public Character entered into force on 1 September 2006. According to its provisions, any natural or legal person is allowed to obtain information from State and municipal bodies, as well as from natural and legal persons performing public functions. The requests, which can be oral, written or electronic, must be responded to within 10 days.
