Poverty Reduction Through Access to Information and Communication Technologies in Rural Areas: An Analysis of Survey Results from the Social Impact Assessment
This paper discusses the findings of a social-impact assessment (SIA) survey of a pilot community Internet-access program in rural China. After a brief background on the project, a discussion of the survey methodology, and highlights of key findings, the paper presents detailed survey results and concludes with a discussion of policy recommendations for expanding the project's pilot efforts into a nationwide program. An annex contains the English version of the questionnaire used in the survey.
