Economics and Business Administration - Graduate and Masters
Country: Japan
Description: Grounded on new concepts in international economic thought, the Economics and Business Administration program encourages research that incorporates both Western and Eastern economic thought, as well as investigates principles of economic activity from both humanistic and ethical perspectives. To make students as practically oriented as possible, both of the Master and Doctoral programs emphasize scholarly, problematic and policy approaches. This is particularly evident in the Master program, which is divided into two major fields: economic management, which involves specialized study, and a policy-management major, which emphasizes problem-solving. The programs are suitable both for persons interested in pursuing advanced research, and for those who want to develop practical skills for the business world. The Doctoral program is designed to nurture a higher level of academic investigation and problem-solving ability than the Master''''s program. Doctoral students engage in scholarly discussions and make presentations in research seminars, and, with assistance from their committee members, devote much of their time to the writing of their doctoral dissertations.
