Australian students are encouraged to keep up to date with their student assistance payments using the Express Plus Students mobile app, said Minister for Human ServicesSenator the Hon Marise Payne.
Instead of visiting a Centrelink office, students can check their Youth Allowance, Austudy or ABSTUDYpayments with the app.
Users can find out what their next payment will be, report their income from casual or part-time work, and update their study details.
According to Payne, many young people start managing their own finances when they move away from home to start university.
The app is designed to help students who may find this challenging.
“There is a range of assistance available for students through income support payments and additional support they may be eligible for, like Rent Assistance, Fares Allowance, the Student Start-up Scholarship and Relocation Scholarships,” Payne said.
“Regional students who move from their parental home to the city may also be eligible for a higher rate of payment.”
