HANOI, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Sinh Hung held talks with visiting Speaker of the Republic of Korea's National Assembly Kang Chang Hee here Monday to boost bilateral legislative ties.
Hung affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to further develop the cooperative relationship with South Korea, proposing the two sides to continue maintaining leaders'visits to promote mutual trust and understanding.
Hung expressed his hope to receive supports from the South Korean NA to expand the Official Development Assistance (ODA) for Vietnam, especially in the areas of infrastructure construction.
Hung believed that with joint efforts, the Vietnam-South Korea Strategic Cooperative Partnership will develop well in the future to contribute to peace and stability in the region and the world at large.
Kang Chang Hee, for his part, said that Vietnam's advantages in geographical, natural and human resources serve as a good foundation for promoting cooperation between the two countries, adding that South Korea is willing to share its experiences in economic and industrial development.
Kang said that South Korea expects the signing of the South Korea-Vietnam bilateral Free Trade Agreement to be conducted soon in a bid to expand comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
During their talks, the two sides also agreed to boost cooperation in the field of information technology.
Vietnam and South Korea established diplomatic ties in 1992.
