YANGON, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will implement its three-year new program starting 2013 by cooperating with Myanmar Ministry of Border Affairs, official media reported Friday.
During the workshop on Integrated Community Development Project (ICDP), Community Development for Remote Townships Project (CDRT) and new program of UNDP held in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday, Maj-Gen Zaw Win, deputy minister of Border Affairs, stressed to implement the development tasks in border and rural areas.
Toily Kurbanov, country director of UNDP, said the UNDP would cooperate with regional governments concerned under the directives of the government.
Daw Wah Wah Maung, deputy director-general of the Foreign Economic Relations Department, stressed the need for providing technical assistance from UNDP and cooperation in reforming processes in the country.
Meanwhile, UNDP has offered to provide 144 million U.S. dollar aid to Myanmar to implement the three-year project.
