||Social Media - Where do we go from here?
The internet is becoming increasingly accessible, particularly in Commonwealth countries, and as a result more and more people are becoming acquainted in using social media to interact with friends and conduct business. Social media networks, platforms, applications and messaging services are being used on a daily basis by millions of people through the utilisation of mobile broadband.
As popular as social media is, key questions still exist around the best way to utilise social media for development;
• How can social media be used for learning?
• How can social media increase communications between governments and their citizens?
• How can social media allow ICTs to become more inclusive?
The CTO Forum will bring together global, regional and national social media networks, apps and messaging services to answer these questions and discuss the importance of social media in the Commonwealth. Excitingly, Facebook have already confirmed their participation.
